Read navigation
N and the J/K/L maps distinguish local locations, systems and galaxies. Select the desired discovery mode.
Complete the echoes
Use V and complete every required lock. Normal system discovery takes three locks, or two at scanner level 3+; galaxy discovery requires scanner 3 and four locks.
Fit for travel
Use a compatible hull and Stellar or Galactic Drive. A discovered destination is not a fitted drive.
Resolve sites separately
Complete the signal mini-game for a career site. Experimental opens combat intelligence with a stable type/rating and advice before Warp.
Prepare wormhole travel
Wormhole resolution needs scanner 10 and a Deep Survey Array. Check the capital hull, Reality Drive, fuel and manifest before confirming a new-reality shift.
